Season Finale Hill Climb Held at Melikgazi
The Melikgazi Hill Climb, the final round of the AVIS 2022 Turkish Hill Climb Championship, was organised by the Eskişehir Automobile Sports Club on 29-30 October in Kayseri, with the support of ICRYPEX and Melikgazi Municipality. The event began on Saturday 29 October with a slalom event and the start ceremony, and 25 competitors took part across 4 categories.
On Sunday the event was run over 3 runs on the 5.50-kilometre course. In Category 1, İzmir-based Ülkü Motorsport driver Sevcan Sağıroğlu took the win in a Ford Fiesta R1, with her team-mate İlker Aktaş second in an Opel Corsa GSI and Bahadır Sevinç third in a Citroen Saxo VTS.
In Category 2, Cem Yudulmaz was victorious in a Ford Fiesta R2T, again for Ülkü Motorsport, while Kaan Kara of the same team took second in an Opel Corsa GSI, and Çiğdem Tümerkan completed the podium in a Fiat Palio.
In Category 3, Neo Motorspor's Ahmet Keskin was the fastest in an Opel Corsa OPC, with Kemal Gürsoy of Ülkü Motorsport second in a similar car and Neo Motorspor's Eda Soylu third.
In Category 4, Selim Bacıoğlu took the win in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, also claiming the fastest run award with a time of 02:51.05. Sinan Soylu of GP Garage My Team took second in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, and Ümit Ülkü of Ülkü Motorsport was third in an Opel Corsa OPC. In the women's classification, Eda Soylu took first place, Sevcan Sarıoğlu second and Çiğdem Tümerkan third. The teams' victory went to Ülkü Motorsport.
