The 2016 Turkish Rally Championship begins in Izmir on 16 April with the Saygılı Rulman Aegean Rally. Simin Bıçakcıoğlu, four-time consecutive Turkish Rally Ladies' Champion, and new co-driver Serkan Okan want a fast start to the season on the Saygılı Rulman Aegean Rally. Simin Bıçakcıoğlu's goal is to win the Ladies' title for a fifth year in a row...
Starting in Izmir, the championship will visit Marmaris, Kocaeli, Bursa, Eskişehir and Istanbul before concluding with the "Motorsport Festival" on 20-23 October.
The Saygılı Rulman Aegean Rally, which is expected to draw big crowds of rally fans, will begin with a start at 13:30 on Saturday 16 April in front of Forum Bornova. Over the first two days of the rally, around 60 crews will battle it out on the special stages in the Seferihisar region and on the spectator stage at the Izmir Park Race Track.
On the second day, the action starts at 16:30 and will finish in front of the Ramada Encore Hotel.
BIÇAKCIOĞLU: "WE'RE WAITING FOR ALL OF IZMIR"
Simin Bıçakcıoğlu will compete in the 2016 Turkish Rally Championship for Neo Motorspor in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, with CPM Yazılım and Palamut Group as title sponsors and additional support from Klass Magazin and A&S Transport. The driver said: "I have built a great run of success with last year's win. People say we have had an embargo on the Turkish Rally Championship Ladies' class for the last four years in a row, but every championship and every event has its own importance and its own excitement, and we will work even harder for bigger goals. We have prepared for the 2016 season with this motivation, and this year I also want to fly our country's flag at the events I will enter abroad. In the new season our paths have crossed with our title sponsors CPM Yazılım and Palamut Group for new successes. I thank everyone who supports me, starting with my family and friends, and all motorsport fans. For the Aegean Rally, I'm waiting for everyone in Izmir to come and watch."
