Season Opens in Kahramanmaraş

The opening round of the PETLAS 2025 Turkish Off-road Championship, organised by Kahramanlar Offroad Sports Club with the support of Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Municipality, will take place from 25-27 April.

A total of 27 vehicles and 54 competitors from 17 provinces will battle for top honours at the event, which will be held in Kapıçam Nature Park. Speaking at the Kahramanmaraş launch event for the Petlas 2025 Turkish Off-road Championship, Kahramanmaraş Metropolitan Mayor Fırat GÖRGEL said: "The championship season will kick off in our Kahramanmaraş, with 54 competitors including four female drivers, and the leading finishers will receive their prizes. We wish the Turkish Off-road Championship well in our city, where art and sport come together." Following administrative and technical checks on Friday 25 April and the practice sessions that follow, the first day will end with a ceremonial start in Kapıçam Nature Park.

Clerk of the Course Safa Güzelbulut gave his views on the event: "For all our competitors, this is the most popular forest stage on the national calendar and a track that everyone looks forward to all year, and spectators should be ready for some pleasant surprises on the spectator stage too. We aim for this three-day event to carry on in a festive atmosphere just as it begins, and we are working hard to achieve that."
