The international adventure of the SuperCar Lites race cars, designed and built at the Avitaş Motorsport facilities in Pendik, Istanbul, and which began in 2012, is entering a new chapter.

The one-make cup, one of the FIA World Rallycross Championship's most important partners for the past three years and which, under the RX Lites Cup name, played a key role in bringing many new talents into the sport, now continues under the name RX2 International Series. With its development supported by both national federations and IMG, the promoter of the World Championship, the series will be run over seven rounds in the 2017 season with Cooper Tires sponsorship. Belgium, Great Britain, Sweden, Norway, Canada, France and South Africa, which joins the calendar this year, will host the RX2 teams' tough battles.

The first champion, Kevin Eriksson, went on to win a World Championship round for Olsbergs MSE, while the next champion, Kevin Hansen, became the youngest European Rallycross Champion in history. Several other young drivers who have followed the season are also already being talked about as potential moves to factory teams.
