KAMOK Fever Hits Rize

Round five of the Black Sea Local Off-road Cup (KAMOK) was held in Rize on 15-16 August 2015. Staged at the Old Stadium site, the event saw competitors produce colourful scenes and race to their hearts' content. Around 2,500 people watched the event, which drew heavy public interest, while the competitors, who got a taste of the Black Sea's distinctive climate, completed the final stage of the event in torrential rain.
Despite the demanding track and a final lap run in the rain, the event passed very enjoyably without a single accident, once again underlining the importance of TOSFED standards. Father-and-daughter entrants Mehmet BİRKAN and Demet BİRKAN from Rize signalled that female driver hopefuls are now starting to blossom in off-road, while also showing that the thrill of adrenaline can be safely shared from 7 to 70.
At the trophy ceremony held at the Rize Youth Centre to close out the day, Yıldıray Çil-Bayram Topal took the overall win, with Alaettin Yıldırım-Özay Aksu second and Şenol Moral-Ali Kemal Yazıcı third. The class wins were shared by Alaettin Yıldırım-Özay Aksu in Class 1, İbrahim Aksoy-Hikmet Turan in Class 2, Özcan Doğramacı-Ayhan Işık in Class 3 and Yıldıray Çil-Bayram Topal in Class 4.
