Rallycross Season Ends with Fierce Battles

The final two races of the 2015 TOSFED Rallycross Cup were held on 29 November at the Orhangazi rallycross track on the shores of Lake Iznik in Bursa, organised by the Bursa Automobile Sports Club (BOSSEK) and the Kocaeli Automobile Sports Club (KOSDER). Twelve drivers from Istanbul, Ankara, Bursa, Muğla and Northern Cyprus competed across three categories, and the third and fourth races of the TOSFED Rallycross Cup produced fierce battles.

In Category 1, young Bursa driver Burak Başlık took the win in both races in a Citroen Saxo VTS, with Istanbul's Gürkal Menderes second in a Nissan Micra both times. Özkan Uçkan of Bursa, in a Fiat Palio, completed the first race in third, while Furkan Paşalı of Muğla, also in a Fiat Palio, took third in the second race.

In Category 2, Bursa's Hakan Ertarman won both races in a Renault Clio Ragnotti, Halid Avdagiç of Istanbul took second in both in a Control2, and Birol Aral of Bursa claimed third in both in an Opel Astra GSI.

In Category 3, the fastest driver of the day was Ömer Yıldız, who travelled from Northern Cyprus to compete in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 6. Yıldız won both races, while Ankara's Sinan Saatçi took second in both in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 4. Osman Uğur of Bursa finished third in the first race in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 9, while fellow Bursa driver Rasim Saygın took third in the second race in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO 8.

In the local classification, the first race ended with Onur Çelikyay first, Furkan Paşalı second and Bahadır Özcan third. In the second race, Uğur Çelikyay was first, Bahadır Özcan second and Furkan Paşalı third…
