FIA RX Istanbul Takes Breath Away

The 11th round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship, one of the most exciting motorsport events in the world, met its fans at Intercity Istanbul Park for the second time in Turkey on 3-4 October 2015.

Watched by a total of 25,000 people over two days, the opening day of the FIA World Rallycross Championship on Saturday 3 October saw the qualifying heats for the Supercar and RX Lites categories end with Mattias Ekström leading the Supercar category and Thomas Brytesson topping the RX Lites category at the close of the day.

In the semi-finals on Sunday 4 October, the 12 drivers competing in the Supercar category and the 10 drivers in the RX Lites category gave the thousands of spectators filling the grandstands plenty of thrilling moments.

After a closely fought, knockout-format semi-final battle, the Supercar and RX Lites drivers who advanced to the final received their awards from Intercity Istanbul Park Chairman of the Board Vural Ak.

The displays put on by Drift Club drivers competing in the ApexMasters series throughout the event added a further splash of colour to the weekend...
