Turkish Rally Championship Heads to the Mediterranean

The second round of the 2019 Turkish Rally Championship, the Mediterranean Rally, is being organised by KKTOK on 17-19 May with Gülgün Süt Ürünleri as title sponsor.

34 cars and 68 competitors will battle over 10 special stages covering 110.05 kilometres, in a rally with a total length of 537.82 kilometres. The Mediterranean Rally begins on the night of Friday 17 May with a start ceremony at Kyrenia Marina, and the first day features a spectator stage set up in the centre of Kyrenia. The stage was watched by thousands last year and is expected to draw the same level of interest again this time.

Girne American University will host the event as the service park. On the second day, Saturday 18 May, the crews will tackle the Görneç and Çeşme stages twice each, before the day ends with a single run through the spectator stage at Cemsa in Nicosia. On Sunday 19 May, the crews will run the Balıkesir and BRT stages twice each, before finishing the rally on the finish podium at Kyrenia Marina.

Ahead of this event, the Murat Bostancı-Onur Vatansever crew lead the 2019 Turkish Rally Championship, while Castrol Ford Team Türkiye top the manufacturers' championship and BC Vision Motorsport lead the teams' championship.
