Weather Tests Drivers at Körfez

Round 3 of the 2019 Turkish Karting Championship, organised by the Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) at Körfez Race Track, was held on 18-19 May. Tyre choice proved a challenge for the competitors as rain showed its face from time to time, with 18 drivers across 4 classes taking part over the weekend.

In the Mini class, which saw fierce battles between the champions of the future, Hakkı Dorum took the chequered flag first in all 3 races to claim the class win, with Batı Ege Yıldırım second and İskender Zülfikari third.
In Formula Junior, national team driver Ömer Asaf Kolot won all 3 races to finish the day in first place. Yiğit Arslan took second in this class, while Kerim Sulyak finished third.

In Formula Senior, Ehad Türker once again stood on the top step of the podium, with Zekai Özen second and Kerem Kahraman third.
In Formula Master, the class for veterans, Mehmet Çınar took first place with 3 wins, while Mehmet Yaman and Cem Yudulmaz completed the podium in second and third respectively.

Round 4 of the 2019 Turkish Karting Championship will be held on 21-22 June at the Tuzla Park circuit in Istanbul.
