Peugeot Crew Back On Top Once Again

The Neo Motorspor crew of Yağız Avcı and Bahadır Gücenmez, backed by Peugeot Sport Türkiye, took their fourth win of the season at the Eskişehir Rally.

The Eskişehir Rally, the fifth round of the 2016 Turkish Rally Championship and run this year as a candidate event for the European Rally Cup, took place on 3-4 September 2016. On the opening day, which started in front of Espark, the Şerif Yardımcı, Taner Türkkan and Ömer Banaz stages were run, along with the Metropolitan Municipality spectator stage. Driving a Peugeot 208 T16 R5, the Neo Motorspor crew of Yağız Avcı and Bahadır Gücenmez took the lead on the first stage and held it to the end of the day, finishing the leg in first place, 58.1 seconds ahead of their closest rivals.
On the second day of the demanding rally, the crews tackled the Cahit Alkan and Aydan Akal stages before finishing the event, once again, in front of Espark. The Peugeot Sport Türkiye-backed Avcı-Gücenmez crew were once again the crew to reach the top step of the podium. With this victory, the national team drivers extended their lead in the 2016 Turkish Rally Championship and took a significant step towards the title.

The 2016 Turkish Rally Championship continues with the İSOK Istanbul Rally on the Anatolian side of Istanbul on 24-25 September, and concludes with the Hitit Rally in Çorum on 29-30 October.
