Ömer Asaf's Rise Continues

Ten-year-old national driver Ömer Asaf Kolot, who represents Turkey on the European karting circuits, was in Belgium for the second race of the 2017 season. Competing in the mini class at Round 2 of the Belgian Max Challenge, held on 21-23 April at the 1360-metre International Genk circuit in Belgium, the young driver worked hard through three days of practice and racing.

Over a demanding weekend, the young driver stood out in qualifying in particular, finishing second in the class by a margin of just 0.024 seconds. After finishing fourth in the first race of the weekend and third in the second, Kolot was caught up in a crash in the final race and took the chequered flag in seventh place.

Ömer Asaf Kolot will continue his season with the opening round of the Turkish Karting Championship, to be held on 6-7 May at the TOSFED Körfez Race Circuit.
