Off-road Season Gets Under Way in Vezirköprü

The opening round of the PETLAS 2024 Turkish Off-road Championship, the Vezirköprü Off-road Race, will be held from 10-12 May in the Vezirköprü district of Samsun, organised by the Samsun Automobile Sports Club (SAMOSK).
Included by Samsun Governor Orhan Tavlı in the programme of celebrations for the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day on 19 May, the event is being organised with Samsun Metropolitan Municipality and Vezirköprü Municipality as hosts. Vezirköprü District Governor Özgür Kaya has said the event makes a major contribution to promoting the district, and this adrenaline-filled race will be held in Vezirköprü for the 14th time this year. With the valued support of the Samsun Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, the event is set to make a name for itself again this year, with 32 vehicles and 64 competitors going head to head.
Supported by the Samsun Governorate, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality, the Vezirköprü District Governorate, Vezirköprü Municipality and the Samsun Provincial Directorate of Youth and Sports, the 14th Vezirköprü event will begin with a start ceremony at Vezirköprü Çamlık Park at 17:30 on Friday 10 May. The first off-road race of the ICRYPEX-sponsored 2024 Oyman Atabay season will be run in the Vezirsuyu Nature Park area.
The two-day competition consists of four 11-kilometre stages in the Vezirsuyu area on Saturday, and a six-kilometre spectator stage in the İncesu area on Sunday. Showcasing Vezirköprü's natural beauty, the event will conclude with a prize-giving ceremony on the spectator stage at 17:00 on the same day.
