Fog and mist marked the exciting second round of the AVIS 2024 Turkish Hill Climb Championship, organised by Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality in cooperation with the Kocaeli Automobile Sports Club. The start of the first run, scheduled for 10.00, was delayed by two hours because of the fog. A total of 30 competitors across five categories completed the Kartepe Hill Climb by tackling the 5.87-kilometre demanding course three times.
EAMS Take Eight Trophies from KartepeIn the foggy, misty and damp conditions, Category 1 featured seven competitors. Mehmet Gökseven had impressed in his Saxo on the first two runs, but a gearbox failure on the final run handed second place on the podium to Ege Asal Motorspor's Özgür Şenyüz in his Palio. Serap Kotan, one of the female competitors from Izmir, finished fourth in her Fiesta, just off the podium, and won the Ladies' classification. Team-mate Yasemin Erikli took the chequered flag sixth in her Palio and was second in the Ladies' standings.

EAMS Take Eight Trophies from KartepeIn Category 3, where a total of ten competitors took to the course, Ege Asal Motorspor driver Murat Çetin took third on the podium in his Fiesta R2T, while team-mate Şevket Çınar, racing a Corsa OPC, finished sixth. In the local classification, Murat Çetin was first and Şevket Çınar third. In Category 5, Deniz Dursun in a BMW E36 took second place, bringing the Ege Asal Motorspor team onto the podium once again. The results achieved at the Kartepe Hill Climb delighted team owner Mithat Diker and team director Nusret Bayrakdar.
