Yücebaş Wins at Körfez

PWR Balata, RedBull.com, Motul sponsored the event, which was also supported by Spor Toto, and it delivered colourful battles and closely fought pairings. The powerful cars of the 8 licensed teams and 28 competitors, and their smoky side-by-side battles, were judged by FIA Drift judge Mattias Jönsson and Hüseyin Kar, Turkey's most experienced drift judge.
In qualifying on Saturday 15 June, İbrahim Yücebaş from the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus topped the day with 84 points, with young driver Ege Bilaloğlu second and Çağlar Küçükdumlu third.
Sunday 16 June began with a driver meet-and-greet and paddock visit that drew great interest. In the head-to-head knockout rounds that followed, battles fought at times in the rain gave around 2,500 spectators plenty of excitement. In the final pairing, İbrahim Yücebaş faced Alexandr Grinchuk, and it was Yücebaş who lifted the winner's trophy. Ukrainian Red Bull driver Grinchuk took second place, while Kemal Soylu, competing for DFT Racing, finished third.
The Apex Masters Turkish Drift Championship continues with the third round on 21-22 September in the car park of the Kadir Has Stadium in Kayseri.
