Deniz Wins on Home Turf Once Again

The Mediterranean Rally, organised by KKTOK in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus with Gülgün Süt as title sponsor, ended with a magnificent finale. After three days of intense competition between 17 and 19 May, the win went to Deniz Fahri-Bahadır Gücenmez, competing in a Skoda Fabia R5 for BC Vision Motorsport.
In the 540-kilometre rally, second place went to Burak Çukurova-Vedat Bostancı in another Skoda Fabia R5 from the same team, while third went to Murat Bostancı-Onur Vatansever in a Ford Fiesta R5 for Castrol Ford Team Türkiye.
In Class N, Uğur Soylu-Mehmet Köleoğlu won in a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo IX, while Emre Hasbay-Emir Şahin took the honours in Class 4, 2WD and the young drivers' category in a Ford Fiesta R2T for Castrol Ford Team Türkiye. The "Spirit of the Rally" award went to Bora Manyera-Cem Çerkez of BC Vision Motorsport.
In the Historic class, Uygar Birgili-Afşin Baydar won in a BMW 316, with Gerçek Sunman-Bahar Sunman second in a Fiat 131 and Efe Kethüda-Elif Alaş third in a similar car.
At the finish ceremony and prize-giving, staged as a spectacular show at Kyrenia Marina, plaques were presented to the top finishers and to the executives of the companies that supported the event.
