Kolot on the Podium in Germany

Turkish driver Ömer Asaf Kolot finished third in the Mini Max category at the third round of the Belgian Rotax Max Challenge, held at the Kerpen circuit in Germany on 19-20 May.

The 12-year-old, who is representing Turkey on the European circuits this year as a Turkish National Team driver with the support of TOSFED, once again emerged successfully from a battle with 16 drivers from seven different countries.
Having set strong times in practice on Friday and Saturday, Ömer Asaf completed Sunday's three races in third place in the category. The first two races were run bumper to bumper in intense battles, and in the third and final race of the day, a crash at the first corner after the start dropped the Turkish driver back to eighth. A strong performance saw the driver fight back as high as fourth, however. At the end of the day, Ömer Asaf Kolot lifted the third-place trophy and maintained third place in the cup standings.

The fourth round of the five-race series will be held at the Francorchamps circuit on 22-23 September.
