Karting Fever Sweeps Through Izmir

The second round of the 2021 Turkish Karting Championship, the Çözüm Ortağı Karting Races, was organised by Karya Otomobil Spor Kulübü at İzmir Ülkü Park on 10-11 July 2021. The event attracted 43 competitors across five categories, with the first races in every category run on Saturday, and the second and third races on Sunday.
In the Mini category, contested by 11 drivers aged between 7 and 12, 10-year-old İskender Zülfikari took the win, with Teoman Hoskin second and Erin Ünlüdoğan third. In Mini Women, Zeynep Büyükpınar of the BOM Karting team took the win, with Melek Dorum second. In Formula Junior, open to drivers aged 13 to 16, Emir Tanju of Dynamic Racing Team claimed the top spot, while Yağız Topal finished the weekend second and Batı Ege Yıldırım third. Ayşe Çebi was the fastest junior woman, with Leyla Sulyak second. 
In Formula Senior, which had the biggest entry with 16 drivers aged over 15, Kerem Kahraman stood on the top step of the podium, followed by Kerim Sulyak in second and Zekai Özen in third. In Senior Women, Seda Kaçan of Dynamic Racing Team lifted the winner's trophy, with Ayda Biter of BOM Karting Akademi second and Sena Savaşer of Dynamic Racing Team third. In the Master category for drivers aged over 30, Mehmet Çınar won, with Mehmet Yaman second.
In the TOSFED Micro Support Cup, held for the first time this year and open to drivers under 9, 8-year-old Can Özler took the win, with Cem Karakömür second and Rüzgar Evci third.
At the post-race ceremony, the top finishers received their awards from Izmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger, Izmir Provincial Director of Youth and Sports Murat Eskici and TOSFED Sporting Director Murat Kaya. The young drivers who finished on the podium in the women's classes were presented with their awards by Çözüm Ortağı CEO Aylin Özetken, event coordinator Ayça Öztürk and KAROSK member Nurcan Camcı.
