Izmir Autocross Cup Gets Under Way

The first round of the 2016 Izmir Autocross Cup will be held on Sunday 3 April at the Menderes Autocross Track, located within the Ege Asal Motor Spor Rally Centre, and organised by the Aydın Automobile Sports Club (AYOSK).
Run on an 800-metre track with a mixed dirt and concrete surface, the 1st Izmir Autocross Race will begin with administrative checks at 10:30 and continue with practice laps between 12:00 and 13:15.
The season-opening autocross race of the Izmir Cup will be run over 5 laps between 14:00 and 15:30, and the event will conclude with a prize-giving ceremony at 16:15.
Ahead of the race at the Menderes Autocross Track, Ege Asal Metal had a 100-seat grandstand and a start tower built at the track, and renewed the roof of the covered area. AYOSK President Kuvvet Erim said the track had been improved with the contributions of Menderes Mayor Bülent Soylu and Mithat Diker, adding: "With the work carried out, and the new rules to be applied in the Izmir Autocross Cup, we aim to increase the number of competitors and spectators."
