Countdown to Istanbul Rally

As the Turkish Rally Championship approaches its season finale, the sixth round of the season, the TÜYAP 37th Istanbul Rally, which carries great importance in deciding the championship titles, is being organised on 24-25 September 2016. The rally is organised by the Istanbul Automobile Sports Club, known by its abbreviation İSOK, with TÜYAP as title sponsor and with the support of Ford, the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, İPOP, TTOK, Fiat and Şişli Municipality, and will be held in and around Intercity Istanbul Park.
The rally begins on Saturday 24 September with the start at 14:30 from the Istanbul Park Car Market. On the first day, crews will tackle the 16.35 km Göçbeyli stage and the 13.70 km Oruçoğlu stage, followed from 16:30 by the 3.64 km gravel spectator stage at Intercity Istanbul Park. After the spectator stage, the first day will conclude from 17:30 with the end-of-day service and the overnight park.
On the second day of the rally, the action continues from 10:30 on the Göçbeyli and Oruçoğlu stages. After these two stages have each been run twice, the event will finish at 15:20 with the Redbull.com Power Stage (bonus stage) at Intercity Istanbul Park. Crews will play their cards on this stage, aiming to finish in the top three overall and in their classes to carry extra points into the championship, before completing the TÜYAP 37th Istanbul Rally on the finish podium at İPOP from 15:30.
Ahead of this event, Yağız Avcı-Bahadır Gücenmez lead the Turkish Rally Championship on 73 points in their Peugeot 208 T16 R5, with Burak Çukurova-Vedat Bostancı second on 60.2 points in a Citroen DS3 R5 Evo and Orhan Avcıoğlu-Burçin Korkmaz third on 54 points in a Ford Fiesta S2000.
In the Turkish Rally Teams Championship, Castrol Ford Team Türkiye continue to lead on 103.4 points, with Neo Motorspor second on 95 points and BC Vision Motorsport third on 84 points...
