Yazıcı Takes Victory at İSOFF Challenge

The İSOFF Challenge 2021, named in memory of İstanbul Offroad Club member and champion competitor Kenan Çarpışantürk, who passed away in February this year, produced thrilling action and emotional moments. A total of 24 crews started the event, with Ali Gökhan Yazıcı-Alparslan Yüksel competing in Çarpışantürk's former competition car, while Çarpışantürk's son Salih Çarpışantürk was also among the entrants.
On a predominantly gravel 4.7km track, the event was run as a mass-start knockout format, with 4×4 vehicles joined by 4×2 Buggies and SSVs. Crews were lined up according to their qualifying times regardless of vehicle class and started together. The crews setting the best times in each knockout round progressed to the next stage, with the first knockout rounds run over 10 laps, the second knockouts over 8 laps, the semi-final over 6 laps and the final also over 6 laps.
Turkish Motorsports Federation (TOSFED) President Eren Üçlertoprağı, Sporting Director Murat Kaya, Sporting Committee member Metin Yılmaz and Disciplinary Board member Av. Berk Batur were also among those following the event, which produced exciting moments as the competition intensified with every lap.
At the end of the event, Ali Gökhan Yazıcı-Alparslan Yüksel, competing in a Mitsubishi Pajero, lifted the winners' trophy, while Burak Ayvaz-Semih Noyan, driving a DeToro, finished second. The crew said they were accepting their trophy in the name of Kenan Çarpışantürk and presented it to his family. Third place overall went to Kenan Çarpışantürk's son, Salih Çarpışantürk, and Mert Becce. The third-place trophy being presented to the crew by Salih Çarpışantürk's mother, Fatma Çarpışantürk, created an emotional moment for everyone present.
Round 2 of the Kenan Çarpışantürk 2021 İSOFF Challenge will take place on 4-5 September.
