Hitit's Two Fastest Front-Wheel-Drive Cars: Egea

Fiat Motor Sporları completed Hitit Rally, the second round of the Shell Helix 2021 Turkish Rally Championship held as part of the 2021 Demir Berberoğlu Season, with victory in both the two-wheel-drive and Class 4 categories.
Fiat Motor Sporları, part of Tofaş, successfully completed the 47th Hitit Rally with the Egea on 3-4 July. The event was organised by the Ankara Otomobil Sporları Kulübü (ANOK) with the support of Kahramankazan Municipality. Fatih Kara and Bilge Ayan, competing in the rally version of the "Turkey's Most Preferred Car" Fiat Egea, tackled a 334km asphalt route over two days, including 84km of special stages, and won Class 4 and the front-wheel-drive category.
Commenting on the result, Fiat Motor Sporları Team Director Koray Kafkas said: "Work continues on the version of our Egea race car prepared specifically for Class 4. We are making a concerted effort with Tofaş R&D to develop a competitive car. As the Fiat Motor Sporları team, we have come a long way in understanding how the Egea, which has become Turkey's darling, can evolve into a race car. The result we achieved at Hitit Rally, which was held again after a 12-year gap, shows that we are on the right track. Throughout the 2021 season we will keep developing our car and working to make it one of the most competitive in its class."

The Fiat Motor Sporları team will continue its season on 7-8 August with the 45th Yeşil Bursa Rally, which is known for its challenging asphalt stages.
