Bursa-based driver İsmet Toktaş, competing in Category 3 of the Turkish Hill Climb Championship, secured the championship title after the Istanbul Hill Climb, which he went into as championship leader, adding another success to his achievements across the national disciplines.

Toktaş set the fastest times on all three runs of the event, held at Ovacık, and finished the day second overall behind team-mate Ümit Ülkü, mathematically sealing the title.

Speaking after the event, which was run over three passes of the 4.240 km asphalt course, Toktaş said: "My main aim at the Istanbul Hill Climb, which stands out for its clean asphalt, was to finish first in my category and mathematically secure the championship that I narrowly missed in previous years. On this fast, short course I got through all three runs without any problems, so I'm pleased to have achieved my goal."

The final round of the championship, where the Turkish Hill Climb champions will be decided, will take place on 5-6 November at Kocaeli Kartepe, organised by the KOSDER club.
