İsmet Dönmez Cup Round 3 Heads to Akçaabat

Organised by Trabzon Offroad Club, Round 3 of the Black Sea Off-road Platform İsmet Dönmez Local Cup will take place in Akçaabat on 24-25 October 2015.

To be held on the reclaimed waterfront area in the city centre, the event has been prepared with the close effort and support of the Trabzon Governorship, the Akçaabat District Governorship, Akçaabat Municipality, the Youth and Sports Provincial and District Directorates and Trabzon Offroad Club, and stands out as one of the most important races of the year in the region.

The track, where around 35 off-road vehicles will battle it out, has been prepared with great care to be easy to follow and highly enjoyable for spectators.

Trabzon Offroad Club President Mustafa Güner gave his views on the event: "On Saturday at 13:00, the competitors will set off from in front of the municipality building and make a city tour in convoy, before reaching the camp and race area prepared on the Akçaabat waterfront. On Sunday, the action will continue with the start on the natural track prepared on the waterfront. The excellent flow and the high-adrenaline obstacle sections will also add to the competitors' excitement. The local cup, contested over 3 rounds, has been dedicated to our friend İsmet Dönmez, who suffered serious health problems last year due to illness. The final round will be held in our province, and the cup's champions will be decided here. We invite all motorsport fans to our event, where excitement and competition will be at the highest level, and we wish our friend İsmet Dönmez a speedy recovery and hope to see him back among us in good health."
