Most recently winning the 2015 Rotax Max Challenge Central and Eastern European Cup, Turkish national karting driver Berkay Besler added another success to his international record, finishing second in round five of the Belgian Max Challenge to take yet another podium.

At the Genk circuit in Belgium, 33 of the best drivers from seven different countries competed in the Senior Max class, which included Berkay Besler. Setting the fastest time of the weekend in qualifying with a 54.385, Berkay won the first Final in 14.46.096. Home driver Dylan Lahaye was second, with Sweden's Jessica Backman third. The top three were the same in the second Final, but the order changed this time. Our representative took the chequered flag in third place, behind Dylan Lahaye and Jessica Backman. The third and final Final was breathtaking. The lead changed hands between Berkay Besler and Jessica Backman right up to the last moment. The top three remained unchanged at the end of the race, but the order changed again. Jessica Backman won this time with a time of 14.50.694, with Berkay Besler second and Dylan Lahaye third. After the three races, the three drivers finished level on 157 points, and on countback Jessica Backman was classified first, Berkay Besler second and Dylan Lahaye third. Having been on the podium consistently in Europe this season, Berkay maintained his run of top-level consistency with this result.
