Legendary Classics Head to Aksaray

Classic cars that defy the years and eye-catching designs that put new-generation machinery to shame will take to the roads of Anatolia for the second time.

Legendary cars of their era will start the 2nd Aksaray Ihlara Rally on 25–26 July. At the event's first running last year, the beautiful classic cars drew huge public interest. This year's rally will feature more than 30 classics and will again take place on a very special route steeped in history and cultural heritage.

Organised by Newart Media as part of the Aksaray Municipality's Ihlara Culture, Tourism and Art Festival, the rally will offer spectators a visual feast that combines a passion for cars with historical and cultural tourism heritage. Expected to attract even more interest this year thanks to the hospitality of Aksaray Municipality, the event will host a large number of vintage car enthusiasts from different provinces.

Following the start from the city square at 13:30 on Saturday 25 July, the first day will be run over a 120km route. In the final stage of the day, competitors will plant saplings in their own names at the Aksaray Municipality Necip Fazıl Kısakürek Memorial Forest, setting an example of social responsibility. The second day of the rally will conclude with a 140km route taking in important historical areas such as Helvadere, Belisırma, Ihlara and Selime. At the prize-giving ceremony in Aksaray City Square at 16:00 on Sunday 26 July, the leading crews will receive their trophies.
