Women Battle It Out in Fierce Competition

"First Encounter with Rallying", the first project of the TOSFED Women's Commission, which was set up to enable women to play a more active role in every area of motorsport in Turkey, attracted great interest. In the selection rounds, participants went through a written test, a timed slalom, interviews and practical training sessions, at the end of which four women drivers were chosen to drive the course car at Rally Bosphorus. The event, which counts towards the European Rally Cup, will be held in Istanbul on 24-26 July 2015.

In selections where national driver Burcu Çetinkaya also passed on her experience to the candidates during the slalom rounds, Ceren Gülşah Özönel, Özlem Dalan, Ceren Seray Çaprak and Gülin Sazcılar earned the right to take the wheel of the course car at the 44th International Bosphorus Rally, alongside experienced co-driver Kaan Özşenler. After a two-day training programme, these four drivers will take their first step into motorsport by getting behind the wheel of the course car at Rally Bosphorus.
