Double Victory in Denizli

The second round of the PETLAS 2021 Turkish Off-road Championship was held on 21-22 August in the Merkezefendi district of Denizli. Organised by the Denizli OffRoad Club (DENDOFF) with the support of Merkezefendi Municipality, the event began on the first day with 34 vehicles and 68 competitors tackling the forest stage at Göveçlik, named after Kenan Çarpışantürk, four times. On the second day, the crews ran the Merkezefendi Municipality spectator stage, named after Kazım Arslan, three times, completing a demanding event full of fierce competition. A large crowd of spectators followed the crews' battle through the stages, which were made up of tough obstacles and run in thick dust, with great excitement. With Merkezefendi Mayor Şeniz Doğan and Merkezefendi District Governor Dr. Adem Uslu also watching on, two crews finished level on points in the overall classification and shared the win. The crews of Ertan Nacaroğlu-Eray Yanpar, competing for Bitci Racing Team, and Mustafa Saray-Samet Zurnacı, competing as privateers, took the victory. Third overall went to the Bekir Başkal-Önder Akcengiz crew from ANDOFF Offroad Team. In the SSV class, Ertan Nacaroğlu-Eray Yanpar took the class win in a Can-Am X3, while the other class winners were Mustafa Saray-Samet Zurnacı in a Mitsubishi Pajero in Class 4, Engin Öztürk-Mehmet Özdemir in a Toyota Land Cruiser in Class 3, Bekir Başkal-Önder Akcengiz in an Isuzu Rodeo in Class 2, and the father-and-son crew of Tercan-İlker Kısa in a Suzuki Vitara in Class 1. The teams' win went to Bitci Racing Team, which fielded three crews in the SSV category.The third round of the PETLAS 2021 Turkish Off-road Championship will be organised by the Antalya Offroad Club on 18-19 September in Antalya.
