Ertarman Fastest in Çorum

The Çorum Belediyesi 44th Hitit Rally, round five of the TOSFED Renç Koçibey Rally Cup, was held on 30 September-1 October by the Ankara Automobile Sports Club (ANOK), hosted by Çorum Municipality. Run under the slogan "Dört Dörtlük Ralli" to mark its 44th edition, the rally ended on Sunday at 15:50 with the finish podium and prize-giving ceremony in Çorum City Square, where trophies were presented to the class-placed competitors.
A total of 25 crews started the rally and 17 made it to the finish. On the first day the crews contested the Çorum Belediyesi spectator stage at the TSO Exhibition Area. Drawing huge interest from the public, the stage featured the first drifting demonstrations ever held in Çorum, performed by the DriftTherapy team, which took spectators' breath away.
On the gravel on Sunday, the second day of the event, the crews tackled the stages named Kadeş and Hattuşa, after the Hittites, the region's most important tourism asset and the reason the rally is organised in Çorum, running each of them three times. At the end of two tough days, Hakan Ertarman-Can Hergüner, driving a Renault Clio Ragnotti, took the overall win and the Category 2 win in 58:43.2. Emrah Ali Başo-Gürkal Menderes, in a Ford Fiesta R1, finished second overall and won Category 1 in 1:00:10.2, while İzmir's Erkan Yanıkoğlu-Bora Yılmaz, in a Renault Clio Sport, took third overall and won Category 4 with a total time of 1:00:55.0. In Category 3, local crew Nüvit Karakaşlı-Göktuğ Tuncay finished first.
The 2017 Renç Koçibey Rally Cup season will conclude with the Ford Otosan Kocaeli Rally in Kocaeli on 11-12 November.
