Ayşe Çebi, the 16-year-old national driver who represented Türkiye on the European circuits in the 2023 and 2024 seasons, was in Portugal for the opening round of the Champions of the Future Academy series, which is supported by F1 Academy.

Fierce Battles in Heavy Rain
Competing in the OK-N Senior category, which featured 33 drivers from 28 different countries, 10 of them female, Çebi took to the Portimao circuit in Portugal from 28 February to 2 March. The opening round, run as two separate finals on Saturday and Sunday, was held in heavy rain.

Starting the first final from 23rd among the 33 drivers, Çebi had climbed as high as 14th over the 17 laps before being forced into the pits by a technical problem, and took the chequered flag in 24th. In the second final on Sunday, a bumper penalty dropped Çebi four places in the classification, and the driver finished 26th.

Six Races in Six Countries
The series consists of six rounds at top-level circuits around the world and, after Portugal, will continue in Spain, Italy, Hungary, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. All the races will be broadcast live on the global motorsport platform Motorsport TV, and the series gives drivers the opportunity to compete on equal terms and to identify the most talented names in their groups.

F1 Teams Will Be Watching
The most important feature of the series, which brings together a total of 108 drivers from different countries across three categories, is that F1 Academy and Formula 1 team executives will follow the entire season... In a project aimed at discovering promising talent, female drivers will also have the chance to take part in F1 Academy tests and prove themselves to the teams.
