Çardak Falls for Motorsport

The opening round of the 2018 Turkish Hill Climb Championship was organised by the Aegean Motorsport Club (EOSK) with the support of Denizli Çardak Municipality in Denizli Çardak on 21–22 April 2018. Staged on a 7.1-kilometre course in the first motorsport event the town has ever hosted, the race got under way with the start given by Çardak Mayor Mahmut Öztürk. The event, which drew great interest from the people of Çardak and was run over three runs, saw Kaan Kara from İzmir in an Opel Corsa GSI take the win in Category 1, Refik Bozkurt from Ankara in a Renault Clio Sport win Category 2, and Cem Yalın from Istanbul in a Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX Maxi win Category 4. Competing for GP Garage My Team, Yalın set the fastest run of the day with a time of 04.10.86.

In the local classification, among the İzmir-based competitors, İsmail Cabacı in a Fiat Palio won Category 1 and Alper Akgün in a Honda Civic Type-R EP3 won Category 2.
