Rally Bodrum Takes Breath Away

The third round of the Petrol Ofisi Maxima 2024 Turkish Rally Championship, Rally Bodrum, organised by the Karya Automobile Sports Club (KAROSK) on 26-28 April, ended with victory for the Ali Türkkan-Oytun Albayrak crew from Castrol Ford Team Türkiye. Türkkan-Albayrak also set the fastest time on the Jandarma 185th Year stage and took the special gendarmerie award, while the crew also won Class 3.
Second place overall and the Class 2 win went to Ümit Can Özdemir-Kutay Ertuğrul of GP Garage My Team, while third place went to Kerem Kazaz-Corenitn Slyverstre of Parkur Racing. Kazaz-Slyverstre also won the juniors' title, as well as the special award from event sponsor TECNO.
Run over two days and 476 kilometres on tarmac stages showcasing the natural beauty of Bodrum and Milas, the rally saw Castrol Ford Team Türkiye take the manufacturers' title, while GP Garage My Team won the teams' title.
Supported by Muğla Metropolitan Municipality, Bodrum District Governorate, Milas District Governorate, Bodrum District Directorate of Youth and Sports and Bodrum Municipality, and sponsored by TECNO, Duja Hotels, Çözüm Ortağı, Evofone, VST Tour, Oasis Bodrum, Pars Entertainment, Magico Cielo and SHA Gayrimenkul İnşaat, with contributions from the Bodrum Journalists' Association, the event concluded with a finish ceremony in front of be Premium Hotel on 28 April.
At the ceremony, the leading competitors received their awards from Muğla Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Brigadier General Ali Gemalmaz, Bodrum District Governor Mustafa Çit, Bodrum District Gendarmerie Commander Gökhan Kurgan, Bodrum Municipal Council Members Abdullah Engin Başol and Seha Ergene, and sponsor company representatives. 
Refik Bozkurt-Soner Tamer of Atış Motorspor won Class 4 and the two-wheel-drive category, while Orçun Nural-Süleyman Terzioglu took Class N, Kübra Denizci Keskin-Onur Vatansever of Hypco Neo Motorspor won Class 5, Uğur Soylu of GP Garage My Team was the leading master driver, Burcu Çetinkaya was the leading female driver and Italy's Fabrizia Pons was the leading female co-driver.
In the historic class, open to classic rally cars over 35 years old, Kemal Gamgam-Orkun Demir of Parkur Racing added another victory, with Ahmet Tınkır-Rafet Yılmaz second in a Fiat 131 S.
In the TOSFED Rally Cup class, held this year in memory of Celal Gülerhan, the young Ankara crew of Berkay Erdoğan-Muhammed Mataracı took the win, and also finished top of Category 4.
Taner Oruç-Onur Sırımoğlu finished second and won Category 2, with Sencan Kırıkkaya-Tezcan Başar third. Ümit Bayram-Merih Mert Mecidoğlu in Category 1 and Alp Atak-Alperen Tetik in Category 3 were the fastest crews, while Çiğdem Tümerkan, competing with daughter Zeynep Tümerkan, won the female drivers' title and Cansu Açar, competing with Faruk Sayın, won the female co-drivers' title.
