Bitci Baja Cup Gets Under Way in Denizli

The opening round of the Bitci.com 2021 TOSFED Baja Cup was held on 16-17 October in the Merkezefendi district, organised by the Denizli Nature Sports and Off-road Club, known as DENDOFF. Staged with the support of the Denizli Governorate and Merkezefendi Municipality, the event saw the off-road vehicles cover a total of 265 kilometres on off-road stages over two days.

On the first day the crews tackled the 53.79-kilometre Edip Yaşar Kurtoğlu stage at Domuzini Deresi twice, before completing the demanding event on Sunday 17 October with the 94.68-kilometre Kenan Çarpışantürk stage at Şahintepesi.

The Can-Am X3 crew of Barbaros Yangın-A.Osman Kutanoğlu won the opening race of the season, with Murat Kamil Altun-Tuvana Sayar second in a Suzuki Vitara and Batuhan Korkut-Mert Tepe third in a Mitsubishi L200 to complete the podium. Yangın-Kutanoğlu also won the SSV2 class, while Altun-Sayar took the TH1.1 class win and Korkut-Tepe won TH2.1.

The event concluded with a prize-giving ceremony at the Merkezefendi Municipality Cultural Centre, attended by Merkezefendi Mayor Şeniz Doğan, TOSFED President Eren Üçlertoprağı and TOSFED Sporting Director Murat Kaya.
