Çukurova-Akçay Win Yeşil Bursa Rally

The BTSO 45th Yeşil Bursa Rally, round three of the Shell Helix 2021 Turkish Rally Championship, ended with victory for the Burak Çukurova-Burak Akçay crew from BC Vision Motorsport. Organised by the Bursa Automobile Sports Club (BOSSEK) with the Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO) as title sponsor, the rally ran on 4-5 September, with 75 cars and 150 competitors battling over two days on a 368.94 km route in the Orhaneli-Keles region. Çukurova-Akçay finished the demanding two-day contest 9.6 seconds ahead of team-mates Buğra Banaz-Gürkal Menderes, while Ali Türkkan-Aras Dinçer of Castrol Ford Team Türkiye completed the podium in third. Red Bull driver Ali Türkkan also took the 2WD classification, Class 4 and Junior Drivers wins. Buğra Can Kılıç-Yusuf Çalık of Evofone Rally Team won Class N, Erol Akbaş-Egemen Dural of Castrol Ford Team Türkiye won Class 3, and Mehmet Besler-Egemen Ertük of Clio Trophy Turkey took victory in Class 5. In the Turkish Historic Rally Championship classification, Üstün Üstünkaya-Kerim Tar of Parkur Racing took the win, while home crew Onur Çelikyay-Serdar Canbek finished second in a Murat 124 and Cevdet Durmaz-Ferhat İzzetoğlu were third in a VW Golf GTI. Üstünkaya-Tar also won Category 2, while Çelikyay-Canbek took the chequered flag in Category 1. In the Şevki Gökerman Rally Cup classification, Burak Başlık-Bahadır Özcan of BC Vision Motorsport won overall and in Category 2, while team-mates Alpaslan Çukurova-Can Hergüner took second place and Category 4 victory, and Serdar Kaan Yalçın-Güray Akgün finished third. Emrah Ali Başo-Yasin Tomurcuk won Category 3, with Ali İşeri-Bora İşeri taking Category 1. The Shell Helix 2021 Turkish Rally Championship continues with the Aegean Rally, organised by the Aegean Automobile Sports Club (EOSK) in Seferihisar, İzmir, on 16-17 October.
