Avcıoğlu-Korkmaz Take Five-Star Victory
Round five of the Shell Helix 2022 Turkish Rally Championship, the Royal Teos 31st Aegean Rally, ended in victory for the Orhan Avcıoğlu-Burçin Korkmaz crew of Toksport WRT.
Avcıoğlu-Korkmaz, who have now won all five rallies held this season in their Skoda Fabia R5, also mathematically secured the Shell Helix 2022 Turkish Rally Championship title with one round still to run.
The Burak Çukurova-Burak Akçay crew of Aytemiz and Liqui Moly-backed BC Vision Motorsport finished second, while the Ümit Can Özdemir-Batuhan Memişyazıcı crew of Castrol Ford Team Türkiye took the final podium place.
In a rally that produced fierce competition over two days in Seferihisar, Izmir, Buğra Can Kılıç-Yusuf Çalık of GP Garage My Team won Class 4 and the 2WD classification in their Renault Clio Rally4. 
In Class N, Sinan Soylu-Ali Tuğrul Kaya, also of GP Garage My Team, took the class win in their Evofone-backed Mitsubishi Lancer EVO IX, while Serhan Türkkan-Koray Akgün of Castrol Ford Team Türkiye won Class 3 and Tuncer-Asena Sancaklı, competing for Clio Trophy Turkey, won Class 5. 
The manufacturers' award went to Castrol Ford Team Türkiye and the teams' award to Toksport WRT, while Efehan Yazıcı of Castrol Ford Team Türkiye won the junior drivers' award and Asena Sancaklı took the female co-drivers' award.
The Shell Helix 2022 Turkish Rally Championship will conclude with the 42nd Istanbul Rally, organised by the Istanbul Automobile Sports Club (İSOK) on 12-13 November.
