Avcı-Gücenmez Fly the Turkish Flag

The 48th Rally Bulgaria, the second round of the 2017 Turkish Rally Championship, took place in Bulgaria on 20-21 May. The event also features on the Balkan Rally Championship calendar. Yağız Avcı and Bahadır Gücenmez finished the first day in the lead, then drove a more controlled second day to win the season's second round at the top of the order, undeterred by torrential rain. Turkish crews dominated the results of the tough event, with Burak Çukurova-Vedat Bostancı second and Bulgaria's Ignat Isaev-Milen Iliev third.

Red Bull driver Yağız Avcı, who opened the season at the Aegean Rally, dominated both days of Rally Bulgaria in his Peugeot 208 T16 R5, winning in 1.24.27 and finishing 1 minute 18 seconds clear of his nearest rival.

The next round of the Turkish Rally Championship, Rally Troia, will be held in Çanakkale on 30 June - 2 July.
