Great Gathering in Akçaabat

Round 2 of the Black Sea Off-road Cup will be organised by Trabzon Offroad Club (TROFF) and held in Trabzon's Akçaabat district on 24-25 September 2016. Prepared with the support of the Trabzon Governorship, Akçaabat Municipality and the Trabzon Provincial Directorate of Youth Services and Sports, the event is the first race of the year in Trabzon and, as one of the most important events in the region this season, will bring the whole sporting community together, which gives it great significance.
The event will begin on Saturday 24 September 2016 with motorcycle shows and camp entertainment, and the start of the race will be given at 10.00 on Sunday. The excitement, with 30 vehicles and 60 competitors from Turkey, Georgia and Azerbaijan taking part, will end with the prize-giving ceremony at 18.30 at the event venue.
The spectator stage, where the off-road vehicles will compete fiercely, has been prepared with great care so that it is easy to follow and highly enjoyable to watch. Akçaabat is the district most favoured by day visitors, and with the public having long awaited the race, a very large crowd of spectators is expected.
TROFF president Mustafa Güner said: "On Saturday we will create a festival atmosphere with motorcycle and off-road vehicle shows, followed by enjoyable activities and entertainment around a campfire. We chose a site in the city centre both because it is easy to reach and because it is well suited to off-road racing. The start on the natural course on Sunday will be followed by excellent viewing, and the high-adrenaline, thrilling obstacle course will add to the excitement of the competition. Our race will take place in fine weather, and families who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city at the weekend, enjoy themselves and witness great excitement will be able to watch it with ease. I invite all sports fans and the people of Trabzon to our festival, so that they can see what can be done with off-road vehicles and watch it as a visual feast."
