Double Autocross Weekend Delivers a Spectacle at Yenipazar

The Yenipazar Autocross Races, organised by the Aydın Automobile Sports Club (AYOSK) and the Izmir Automobile Sports Club (İOSK), took place in the Yenipazar district of Aydın on 8-9 November 2025. Held with the support of Yenipazar Municipality, the event drew strong interest from motorsport fans from Aydın and the surrounding provinces.

In Yenipazar Autocross Round 6, organised by AYOSK on Saturday 8 November, Candan Erim set the fastest time to win Category 1. Onur Sınırdere from Manisa took second in the category, while Özgür Kanlı from Aydın, who only began motorsport this year, finished third.

In Category 2, Yasemin Erikli took victory in a Citroen Saxo, with Hilal Olgun of GMG Racing second. Mithat Diker, who has spent 53 years on the tracks, failed to see the chequered flag after his car's engine blew.

On Sunday 9 November, the event organised by İOSK again enjoyed partly cloudy, dry weather, as on the first day. In Category 1, where eight competitors fought for points, 17-year-old Erkan Kotan, who failed to finish on the opening day with a technical problem, won this time and also set the fastest time of the day across all categories with 04:56.24. Onur Sınırdere held on to second on the podium, just as he had the previous day. Kuvvet Erim, who reached the finish with mechanical problems on Saturday, delivered a quick run this time to take third on the podium.

In Category 2, Erdal Oral, who stood out with his aggressive driving, took the top step of the podium. GMG Racing's Samsun-based driver Hilal Olgun was second. Mithat Diker, who had technical problems with his car, used the experience of 53 years to reach the finish and make the podium. In Category 3, the Ankara-based GMG Racing drivers filled the top two places on the podium. Kubilay Ersin Türkmen, racing a Fiat Egea, won, with Ahmet Fatih Çiçek second.

In Category 4, Hakan Akman won with a drive that thrilled the spectators, while Haşim Şahin Çalışkan finished second. The rivalry between the women competitors that flared up on Saturday at Yenipazar Autocross continued on Sunday.

In the women's category, Hilal Olgun took the win, while Özgül Gülcü, one of the drivers who began racing this year with the backing of Ege Asal Metal, was second and Özlem Sapansüren third.

In a joint statement after the Yenipazar Autocross event, AYOSK President Bekir Kuvvet Erim and İOSK President Mithat Diker said: "Yenipazar has now become the autocross centre of the Aegean Region. An exemplary atmosphere was created on this track, both by the competitors and by the spectators. We thank everyone who contributed."
