Volkan Işık Returns

Volkan Işık, the only Turkish driver to score a point in the World Rally Championship (WRC) and Turkish Rally Champion from 1995 to 2003, is returning to the stages after a 12-year break. Işık, who brought Turkey notable success by finishing second and third in the European Rally Championship in 2007 and 2008, will compete in Rally Marmaris Aegean on 22-23 March for GP Garage My Team in a Hyundai i20 R5, with Vedat Bostancı as co-driver.
Işık, who has pioneered work in many areas to contribute to motorsport, including Deltasport, Ralliye İlk Adım, Volkicar and the development and production of racing tyres, is returning to competition with the support of Automechanika, Motul Türkiye, Filomingo, Evofone and Power Grup. Işık said: "Returning to competition after all these years is incredibly exciting for me. I can't wait for the first event. As always, my aim is to contribute to motorsport. I would like to thank all my sponsors who are supporting this project. I genuinely feel the excitement of meeting the spectators on the stages again," expressing both a love of rallying and how much the fans have been missed.
