Double Race Weekend in Vezirköprü Delivers the Thrills
The sixth round of the 2017 Turkish Off-road Championship was held in Vezirköprü, Samsun, alongside Round 3 of the Black Sea Local Off-road Cup, organised by Vezirköprü Offroad Club (VEZİROFF) with İntercity as title sponsor.
After a closely fought event that spectators followed with great excitement over two days, Gökhan İçen-Arda Arslan took the overall win, with Özgür Yaprak-Hasan Armutçu second and Mustafa Saray-Samet Zurnacı third. In Class 2, Nihat Keskin-Yasemin Biber Toker won, İrfan Korkmaz-Ali Özsoy were second and Mustafa Akın-Mustafa Dikici third. In Class 3, Özgür Yaprak-Hasan Armutçu won, Gökhan İçen-Arda Arslan were second and Kemal Şahin-İsmail Kavas third, while in Class 4 Mustafa Saray-Samet Zurnacı won and Erdoğan Kovancı-Servet Gül finished second. In Round 3 of the Black Sea Local Off-road Cup, Cevdet Durdu-Aydemir Uzun took the win, Sinan Çelebi-Hasan Çelebi finished second and Erdoğan Kovancı-Servet Gül third. Bülent Karaduman-Ecem Karaduman won Class 1, Cevdet Durdu-Aydemir Uzun won Class 3 and Zeki Öztürk-Şenel Şevket Yazıcı won Class 4. 
After the races, which gave the people of Vezirköprü plenty to cheer about, a prize-giving ceremony for the top finishers was held at the Municipal Cultural Centre. Thanks were extended to the individuals, institutions and organisations that helped make the event a success, and awards were presented to the competitors who finished on the podium.
