Day Five of TransAnatolia Completed

Competitors who completed the Çukurbağ, Aladağ and Cappadocia stages of the Transanatolia Rally Raid have reached the bivouac in Ürgüp. Day five will begin near Ürgüp, with the competitors heading for Tokat this time.

In the event, which features motorcycles, ATVs, SSVs and cars prepared to technical and safety requirements, the rally – motorcycle category is led by Francesco Catanese, followed by Cesare Zacchetti in second and Francesco Tarrione in third. In the Quad category, Ömer Muharrem Göksel leads. In the SSV category, Tsanko Tsankov leads from Necati Şahin. In the car category, Caner Akkafa/Malik Akkafa lead from Hüseyin Kurt/Özaydın Kürkçü in second and Erkan Dağlar/Ömer Kürkçü in third. In the Raid category, among the drivers competing in the car class, Haluk Kutay/Ali Kutay lead, followed by Göktuğ Güzelbey/Hüseyin Murat Özkargı in second and Süreyya Çakmak/Pelin Çelik in third. Barış Bilen Vural, the only motorcyclist competing in the raid category, was among those who successfully finished the third-day stage.
The Transanatolia Rally Raid will start from near Ürgüp on the morning of 25 August, tackling the Çalış, Akdağlar and Tokat stages before finishing in Tokat.
