TransAnatolia Route Revealed

The much-anticipated route for TransAnatolia 2026, which will take place from 29 August to 5 September 2026, has been announced. One of the world's toughest rally-raid events, TransAnatolia will this year cover 2,300 kilometres, starting from Turkey's biggest metropolis, Istanbul, and finishing in the capital, Ankara.

Bringing together the rugged nature of the Black Sea and the iconic landscapes of Central Anatolia, TransAnatolia 2026 will be run on a route of high sporting difficulty and strong symbolic meaning. Passing through Bolu, Zonguldak, Ilgaz Mountain (Kastamonu), Amasya, Tokat, Cappadocia and Lake Tuz, it follows an ambitious line that reflects Turkey's cultural and geographical diversity before stretching on to Ankara.

TransAnatolia 2026 will present its first sporting test with Bolu's dense forests and technical stages, before heading out towards the Black Sea, where Zonguldak's harsh terrain and mining landscape will take the challenge to a different level. As the altitude rises in the Ilgaz Mountains, the competitors will this time face mountain passes and changeable surface conditions.

While Anatolia's historic fabric and natural passages come to the fore on the Amasya and Tokat stages, the event will change character in the volcanic terrain of Cappadocia, one of Central Anatolia's emblematic regions. Speed, endurance and navigation will take centre stage on the Lake Tuz leg, before TransAnatolia 2026 concludes in Ankara, the heart of Turkey.
