TOSFED Launches Karting Academy Push

The Turkish Automobile Sports Federation (TOSFED) has announced its planned projects for the 2021 season, aimed at the development and progression of young drivers.
Lorenzo Travisanutto, the 22-year-old 2018 and 2019 FIA Karting World Champion, 2019 FIA Karting European Champion and five-time WSK European Karting Champion, is preparing to meet Turkish drivers as TOSFED's karting instructor. The Italian driver and coach will deliver theoretical and practical karting training in March for licensed drivers competing in the mini category, for ages 7-12, and the junior category, for ages 12-17.

Commenting on the project, TOSFED President Eren Üçlertoprağı said it was being introduced for the first time with a World Champion instructor, with the aim of contributing to the development of young drivers and paving the way for success on European circuits. "Our young driver project began in the 2020 season when we opened Körfez Karting Circuit to our drivers for practice. As part of it, we have increased the number of races in the 2021 Turkish Karting Championship to 10. With the addition of the micro category, in which drivers aged 6-9 can compete, we also believe we will reach the entry numbers that have long been missed. We hope our collaboration with Italian driver and instructor Lorenzo Travisanutto, which has just begun, will last for the long term. These training sessions, which our drivers will take part in free of charge, will accelerate their development and help them achieve success across Europe in the near future."
