Team Mobil 1 Top the Podium in Çan

The second race of the season in the trial discipline, in which teams of two vehicles and four competitors start simultaneously and try to complete the course by supporting one another over demanding terrain, was held with nine teams, 18 vehicles and 36 competitors.

Organised by the Bursa Alternatif Sporlar Kulübü, known as BASK, on the course at Çağlayan Tepesi in the Çan district of Çanakkale, the event was followed with great excitement by a large crowd of motorsport fans on both days. Started by Çan Mayor Abdurrahman Kuzu and local Çan children in front of the Çan Termal Otel, the race produced colourful scenes. There was great interest in the event, which comprised two separate stages: the Çan Municipality Stage with eight gates and the BASK Stage with nine gates.

After two days of tough competition, Team Mobil1, made up of the crews of Ertan Uçar-Mehmet Berat Atagün and Şencan Özkurt-Fuat Sarper, who compete in Suzuki Vitaras, finished the event in first place with a total time of 1:29.52. The Kayalar team, made up of the crews of Avni İnce-Ali Demirayak and Osman Balkı-Cemafer Bulut, who race Land Rovers, took second place with a total time of 2:38.13. Third place went to Aydoff Trial Team, made up of Seda Özkutlu-Şayhaydar Argaç and Ali Fuat Bilgin-Mehmet Emir in a Detoro, with a total time of 3:39.56.

The third round of the 2016 Turkish Trial Championship will be organised by the Sinop Offroad Kulübü (SİNOFF) in Sinop on 4-5 June.
