Denner and Topçu Fastest at St. Hilarion

The opening round of the 2018 Northern Cyprus Hill Climb Championship, the Oğuz Özyalçın Hill Climb, organised by the Northern Cyprus Touring and Automobile Association with the support of Şeker Sigorta, took place with an entry of 17 cars. Against the unique backdrop of St. Hilarion Castle and in the pleasant weather of the Boğaz, and in front of a sizeable crowd of spectators, the Oğuz Özyalçın Hill Climb was run over three passes: a practice run, a first run and a second run. In a closely fought event, Deniz Denner – Ömer Topçu won by just one tenth of a second ahead of Doğa Koyuncu.In the event, which also had the backing of Çocuk Metal, Hasan Reyhan completed the hill climb in third place. Tankut Yiğithan – Erkut Yiğithan and Mehmet Çocuk – Ahmet Akbıçak did not finish, while the cars that started in the drifting category gave the spectators some great moments. At the Oğuz Özyalçın Hill Climb, the class winners were: Deniz Denner – Ömer Topçu in Class E2, Sadık Bilgimer – Ömer Akbelen in S2, Hasan Yücebaş in E1, Doğa Koyuncu – İzem Özvurulmuş in E4 and Kemal Topçuoğlu – Orçun Yırık in E3, while İzem Özvurulmuş won the female co-driver category.
