Season Finale Gets Under Way in Çorum

The 7th and final round of the 2016 Turkish Rally Championship, the 43rd Hitit Rally, got under way today with a start ceremony held at Çorum Kültürpark. A large number of dignitaries, led by Çorum Governor Necmeddin Kılıç and Çorum Mayor Muzaffer Külcü, attended the start of the rally, which is organised by the Ankara Automobile Sports Club (ANOK).

Following the start, the crews tackled the spectator stage laid out inside the Çorum Chamber of Commerce and Industry Exhibition Complex. Neo Motorspor crew Yağız Avcı-Bahadır Gücenmez set the fastest time in their Peugeot 208 T16 R5, after which the first day came to a close.
The action at the Hitit Rally continues tomorrow from 08:30 on the Ahmediye and Gemed stages in the Çorum Dam area. The rally, with a total length of 157 km and 71 km of special stages, will conclude from 15:55 at the finish podium in front of Çorum Municipality.
