Sezer Finishes Season in Second Place

The Ukrainian Port Cup came to an end last weekend with the Xado DRC Rally, held in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

Volunteer Turkish rally driver Selami Sezer, competing in a Seat Ibiza with the support of Logitrans, was unable to finish the Xado DRC Rally because of a mechanical failure, but still ended the 2018 season second in the cup's PS-6 class.

Selami Sezer said: "Because of the heavy rain and poor visibility in the final rally, 28 of the 40 cars, including ours, retired, but we finished the season as championship runners-up across Ukraine. Of course, we are delighted about that. Throughout the year we flew our flag at every rally, both at the event sites and on the stages, as volunteers, doing everything we could. In every city we competed in, we received a very warm response from our fellow citizens living there as well as from the local people, and we saw that the work we have been doing on this road was appreciated. That has been our real source of happiness and pride. I would like to express my gratitude to our communications sponsors, to the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Odesa, Mr Sadin Ayyıldız, and through him our consulate, to the rally organiser Viktor Shapovalov, and to everyone who has supported us. We look forward to seeing you again next season with our flags at new rallies."
