Sarıkamış Rally Postponed

With hotels in the area reaching 100 per cent occupancy because of the Sarıkamış Winter Games Festival, the 'Sarıkamış Rally', which TOSFED had announced would be organised in cooperation with Eksi 36 Sports Club on 2-3 March, has been postponed to 9-10 March so that our drivers and teams are not put at a disadvantage.
Run on a snow and ice route of 206.23km, the rally consists of eight special stages with a total length of 77.40km. The event begins with the recce on Thursday 7 March between 11:00 and 16:30, followed by scrutineering the same day between 16:00 and 18:30.
The first day of the rally gets under way on Saturday 9 March with a start ceremony at 15:00 in front of the Kars governor's office, and will feature the 23.20km Şehitler stage in Yukarı Sarıkamış and the 2.60km Kristal Spectator Stage.
On the morning of Sunday 10 March, the crews begin the day from 10:30 and tackle the Köşk (9.00km) and Soğuksu (8.20km) stages in turn before reaching the service park, which will be set up in the Sarıkamış Kütük Ev car park. The crews then run each of these two stages twice more, before finishing the rally from 16:20 at the Grand Toprak Hotel, which is also the rally headquarters.
The transfer of the participating crews' competition cars will be covered by the organising committee, and each crew will also be offered three nights of free accommodation.
