Toktaş Wins Battle of Milliseconds

The 2016 Turkish Hill Climb Championship round was held on 19 June, organised by the Ankara Automobile Sports Club, abbreviated as Anok, on the course in the Kömürcüler neighbourhood of Çankaya, over three runs.
The event saw a level of competition never witnessed before, with the battle between Bursa's İsmet Toktaş and Ankara's Refik Bozkurt, decided by milliseconds in Category 3, defining the day. Toktaş and Bozkurt, who were separated by less than a second throughout, including the practice runs, ended the event with Toktaş taking first place by just 1 millisecond, making İsmet Toktaş the winner of the day.
Happy to leave an event of such intense competition, İsmet Toktaş also had a difficult time against his strong rival on the Ankara course because of a clutch problem on his car throughout the event. After the Çankaya Hill Climb, Toktaş has gained an important advantage in the championship fight, leading his closest rival by 6 points in Category 3 with 45 points.
The driver from Bursa will continue the championship fight at the Kocaeli Hill Climb on 6-7 August, organised by his own club, the Kocaeli Automobile Sports Club (KOSDER).
