Turkish Rally Championship Heads to the Gravel at Rally Kocaeli

Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality 38th Rally Kocaeli, the fifth round of the Shell Helix 2021 Turkish Rally Championship and its first gravel event, will be held on 13-14 November with 76 cars and 152 competitors entered. Organised by Kocaeli Otomobil Sporları Kulübü with Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality as title sponsor, and supported by Spor Toto, Evofone, 41 Burda AVM, TGI Fridays, Auto Club, Fora Takip and Power APP, the event gets under way on Saturday 13 November at 11:00 with the start ceremony at 41 Burda AVM. On the first day of the rally, the crews will tackle the Kulfallı, Çakmaklar and Toylar stages before finishing the day at the Ramada Plaza Hotel İzmit car park from 16:30. The second day, Sunday 14 November, begins at 10:30, with the crews competing on the İsakçılar, Kulfallı, Çakmaklar and İsakçılar-2 stages. Over the two days, the rally covers a total of 304.06 kilometres, 102.54 kilometres of which are special stages. The rally also awards points towards the Turkish Historic Rally Championship and the Şevki Gökerman Rally Cup, and will conclude on Sunday at 16:00 with the finish ceremony and prize-giving at the 41 Burda Shopping Centre.

Ahead of the 38th Rally Kocaeli in the Shell Helix 2021 Turkish Rally Championship, BC Vision Motorsport's Burak Çukurova leads the drivers' standings, Gürkal Menderes tops the co-drivers', BC Vision Motorsport leads the teams' standings, and Castrol Ford Team Türkiye heads the manufacturers'. In the 2021 Turkish Historic Rally Championship, Parkur Racing's Üstün Üstünkaya-Kerim Tar are in first place, while in the Şevki Gökerman Rally Cup, Castrol Ford Team Türkiye's Okan Tanrıverdi-Sevilay Genç continue to lead.
