18 Teams and 70 Drivers Set for Prokart BPC

Rounds 2 and 3 of the Prokart BPC, officially the Istanbul Sportif Karting Endurance Championship (İSKDB), will take place on 3-4 September at the Akyazı Race Track.
This weekend will see genuine endurance races in which the teams will be pushed to their limits. After Round 2 is completed on Saturday 3 September, the teams will go on to contest Round 3 the following day, Sunday 4 September. They all want to finish at the front and take a place on the podium in both races on the same weekend. This weekend 70 licensed karting drivers in 18 teams will be in action.
Sportif Karting Prokart BPC is a team-based endurance race. Teams must consist of at least two drivers, with no upper limit. Teams take part in the races at the times announced in the race programme and score stage points according to their finishing positions. The team with the most points at the end of the day is declared the winner. For each team, the combined weight of the kart and driver during the race must be at least 176kg; for female drivers this figure is 171kg. The races are run with professional karts powered by 20hp engines.
In the 2016 season, four stages will be run in each round. These stages will be 2x60 minutes and 2x90 minutes. At the end of the day, each team's four stage scores and best time points will be added together to determine the day's classification. The season will consist of six rounds held at four different circuits.
While the drivers fight for their teams, they will also be competing in their individual category.
